  • Built a backtest measuring the strength and independence of each forecast provider's updates. Showed that an expensive provider, though accurate on RMSE and MAE, added little to the cheaper ensemble, especially during large imbalances. The team decided against the investment, avoiding several thousand euros per month.
  • Traced a recurring under-forecasting pattern to mislabeled turbine downtime data, present in both live inference and the training set, and flagged it to the team.
  • Diagnosed miscalibrated probabilistic forecasts, tracing the problem partly to power-based reweighting of the training data. Prototyped adaptive conformal quantile prediction and showed it restored the target coverage.

  • Built an N-HiTS pipeline forecasting shiftable EV charging demand across 14 European bidding areas, trained on 27 million charging sessions.
  • Engineered a Monte Carlo engine that split each area's forecast into 20,000+ individual charging sessions for a downstream optimizer, validated against real fleet behavior.

  • Updated signal and station schematics in CAD, keeping documentation versions consistent across teams.

Smart EV Management vs. Battery Storage for Energy Communities
  • Built mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) cost-optimization models in Python and Gurobi to evaluate Vehicle-to-Building (V2B) against unidirectional smart charging (V1G) and stationary battery storage.
  • Integrated real-world EV driving patterns and photovoltaic (PV) generation data, demonstrating that V2B yields up to a 10x reduction in electricity costs compared to a stationary battery during summer.
  • Co-authored research paper published on ResearchGate.

Thermal Edge: Polymarket temperature trading
  • Probabilistic forecasting and paper-trading system for Polymarket's daily high and low temperature markets in ~50 cities.
  • Station-history models (CatBoost on 26 years of observations, an N-HiTS network on the last week of readings) and 12 weather models plus two ensembles feed a CatBoost classifier that prices every whole-degree outcome directly.
  • A market-aware blend and an edge-reliability layer estimate which disagreements with the market actually pay after the spread and fees; paper books trade them every 15 minutes, filled against the real order book, with limits per position, event and city.
  • Performance, positions, market forecasts, model calibration and data health are published from the same pipeline.
